Mayor Cuts Ribbon at Kenwick Park

Mayor Jim Gray and Councilman Bill Farmer were on hand this morning, along with Kenwick Center Director Duane Rice and a number of Kenwick residents, as they all participated in the ribbon cutting marking the first phase of Kenwick’s Park renovation.

This is the first in a series of steps to renovate the park. The Kenwick Neighborhood Center also received funds for a new scoreboard for the kids. The mayor and Councilman Farmer spoke about the energy, enthusiasm and participation of the Kenwick Neighborhood residents, and their continuous involvement with the City Council in further improving their neighborhood. Another project slated is a ‘traffic circle’, which is intended to slow area traffic down a bit for safety reasons on Menifee Avenue.
 
Mayor Jim Gray and Councilman Bill Farmer empasized the importance of citizen participation in their area neighborhoods, noting that it is a priority for the City of Lexington and Council members to listen to the needs, questions, and input of Lexington area residents.
