Have you heard about the Night Market in Lexington Ky? Thousands of people show up for this street festival that occurs monthly from April through December.
Night Market is a block party featuring food, music and fun. It’s located in the up-and-coming No-Li district on the north side of town. No-Li is short for North Limestone and the event showcases local businesses on that street and the surrounding area. Shop local opportunities nearby or via one of the vendor booths include Wild Fig bookstore, Broomwagon Coffee Shop and Bike Repair, West Sixth Brewery, Crank and Boom Ice Cream, Kentucky for Kentucky, and Bradford BBQ. The free event is sponsored by the North Limestone Cultural Development Corp.
The pop-up market began a few years ago and happens from 6-10pm the first Friday of each month April through December. The event encompasses the 700 block of Bryan Avenue near Loudon and North Limestone Streets with parking available nearby. There’s also a stage area with live music with a different band each week.
This location is also a great place to center your home search. Residents are just five minutes from downtown and Transylvania University, and just ten from the University of Kentucky campus. New Circle road, Lexington’s beltway encircling the core of town, is 5 minutes north. On ramps to I-64 and I-75 are also about five minutes away. Other conveniences include L’Escalade climbing gym, a recently upgraded YMCA, and the Legacy biking and walking trail.
Homes in the north side of Lexington tend to be older brick or siding homes including some bungalows and lots of cape cods. There are also some large brick Victorian mansions closer to downtown. Homes for sale within a half mile of North Limestone and Loudon Avenue range from $75,000 to $599,900 and can be found in Castlewood Park, Fayette Park, Elsmere Park and downtown.
